Steven Hunt & Associates Mark 30 Years with Charity Challenge

The sky's the limit for Steven Hunt & Associates as they prepare to mark their 30th anniversary with three adrenalin-fuelled charity challenges.

The team at Liverpool-based mechanical and electrical engineering consultancy, Steven Hunt & Associates, will face their fears this year with a trilogy of high-energy challenges to celebrate the firm’s 30th anniversary.

In aid of North West Cancer Research, the team of 22 engineering specialists will jump out of a plane in a 10,000 ft skydive, take on a gruelling spinathon to cycle 300 miles in less than 12 hours and then finally hike to the finish line with the famous Three Peaks Challenge - tackling 23 miles across the country’s highest mountains, Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, in less than 24 hours - three challenges representing the three decades the firm has been in business.

Launched in 1989, Steven Hunt & Associates has gone on to become the go-to m&e firm in the North West and are currently the only BIM level certified consultancy in the region.

Steve Hunt, managing director of Steve Hunt & Associates, said:

“It is amazing to think that it has really been three decades. We couldn’t pass this milestone without doing something memorable to mark the occasion, and also to be able to support a great cause in the process. The team are busy getting ready for three really tough challenges ahead that will push them all to the limit. But I have every faith in them and I know their team spirit will lead them to triumph.”

Looking back on the last three years, Steve said:

“More than half of the staff have been with me for over ten years and some have been here over 20 years, which I am very proud of. Liverpool has been a wonderful place to grow the business and I am immensely proud of all that the team has created. We have been very lucky with all of the incredible companies and projects that we have been able to work with over the years. I am excited to see what the next 30 years will bring.”

Sarah Jones, Head of Fundraising from North West Cancer Research, said:

“We are honoured to be the chosen charity for Steven Hunt & Associates’ 30th anniversary and are blown away by the lengths the team are going to in order to raise much needed donations. To take on not one but three challenges is amazing and we are sure they will all do a brilliant job.  We wish them all the very best of luck with each and every challenge.”

North West Cancer Research is the only independent cancer research charity in North West England and North Wales. Since 2000, the charity has invested almost £40 million in life saving research.

Steven Hunt & Associates have worked across a wide range of sectors including healthcare, residential and education. Notable projects include Paddington Hotel in Liverpool, Eclipse residential development at Baltic Triangle, Royal Bolton Hospital, Royal Court Theatre in Liverpool, North Manchester General Hospital and Cypress Building for the University of Liverpool.

All of the charity events will take place after an official anniversary celebration at the city’s St George’s Hall later this year as an opportunity for the company to thank clients and colleagues for their support over the years.
